About C&K:

C&K is a not-for-profit organisation that is recognised as one of Queensland's leading bodies in the Early Childhood and Education sector. Since 1907, the organisation has grown and developed its social purpose agenda and now educates children in 360 centres which are comprised of both Childcare Centres and Kindergartens. 

C&K Arlington Drive Childcare is based in Arana Hills and caters for 150 children, operating from the hours of 6.30 am to 6.30 pm. Their home-like atmosphere creates and maintains a warm and relaxed care environment, providing nurturing and rich relationships between educators and families. They pride themselves on creating a play-based learning environment and program that is developed in collaboration with children, families and the community.

About the role:

This is a fixed-term maternity leave contract. The successful applicant will mentor practice and support with pedagogy and curriculum as part of the leadership team. You will have excellent critical thinking skills, including the ability to analyse and challenge conventual practice and ideas. You will have the willingness to mentor, guide and support educators with diverse backgrounds and varying levels of knowledge and experience. The role will entail you collaborating with educators to provide curriculum decision and guidance to implement the Early Years Learning Framework and the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines.

  • Fixed Term Contract, Part-time - 16 hours per week 
  • Rotating shifts between the hours of 6:30 am to 6:30 pm

Ideal applicants will have: 

  • An ACECQA recognised Diploma or Bachelor of Early Childhood qualification
  • Prior experience working in the early childhood profession.
  • Previous Educational Leader and Inclusion experience is highly desirable
  • Strong knowledge of the National Quality Framework (NQF) and Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines (QKLF)
  • An understanding of the provision of a safe, well planned indoor and outdoor learning environment
  • An ability to implement a planned program, ensuring the needs of individual children and the group are met
  • An ability to obtain a Blue Card, First Aid and National police check

Education and Practice:

  • An ability to lead the implementation of a planned program, ensuring the needs of individual children and the group are met.
  • An ability to document and assess children's learning behaviour and development.
  • An ability to actively motivate, mentor and support the current team and encourage them to embrace new things.
  • Maintain and demonstrate current working knowledge and theories relevant to early childhood education.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the provision of a safe, engaging, well planned indoor and outdoor learning environment.
  • Participate in professional learning and development to enhance individual leadership and management capability and facilitate learning opportunities for the team. 

Relationships with children:

  • Demonstrated experience in providing practical guidance and interaction that ensures quality outcomes for children
  • Demonstrated experience building and maintaining positive relationships with families that supports each child's needs
