About the role:

C&K Tara and District Kindergarten offer a unique kindergarten program based on our own internationally recognised teaching guidelines - the 'Listening and Learning Together' curriculum approach. Our government-approved program is centred around a living and learning community that values children as competent and capable individuals. This play-based curriculum helps children to socialise, build confidence, develop communication and early literacy and numeracy skills to ensure your child is ready for school.

The service is a childcare environment and operates accordingly. Our centre has a stimulating indoor and outdoor environment that offers a range of opportunities for children to learn through play. No two days are the same at the service. Our teaching team tailor each day's learning, taking into account the interests of the children in the group. The spacious environment at our kindy is thoughtfully planned and well-resourced. There is a focus on music, drama, literature and visual arts and time spent discovering the natural environment outdoors.

We are seeking a passionate Universal Access Teacher for a fixed-term contract position commencing in April.

The suitable applicant will be responsible for:

  • Developing and maintaining open and collaborative relationships with all families
  • Encouraging and supporting parent participation within the program
  • Acting as an advocate for early childhood leadership within the service and the wider community
  • Encourage and support parent participation within the program
  • Providing a high-quality Kindergarten program using the National Quality Framework framework
  • Implement C&K's 'Listening and Learning Together' curriculum approach and the documentation that supports this to ensure that it makes each child's learning visible through portfolios engaged in reflective practice undertakes assessment to enrich children's learning and creates collaborative partnerships
  • Participate in all care and education duties as required with all children at the centre. 

Ideal candidates will have:

  • Bachelor degree in early childhood or equivalent (recognised by ACECQA as an early childhood teaching qualification)
  • Current registration with the Queensland College of Teachers
  • Current paid or exemption blue card
  • Current first aid/CPR including asthma and anaphylaxis certificates
  • Previous experience in a teaching role in an early childhood environment  
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, plan and implement a high quality, educational and child-centred program, meeting the needs of individual children
