Assistant Educator - C&K Mackay North Community Kindergarten

About the role:

C&K Mackay North Community Kindergarten are currently seeking an educator who is experienced and qualified to join their team for 2021. Mackay North is a community based, not-for-profit Kindergarten, which supports the local communities' families and children in Mackay.

C&K Mackay North Kindergarten provides high quality educational experiences through the implementation of the new revised curriculum "Listening & Learning Together" by encouraging children to express their own ideas through play to develop friendships, explore, solve problems, help others, imagine, create and extend on their interests.

The Centre aims to provide a safe, friendly, respectful, caring environment that caters for the needs, interests and uniqueness of children, family, staff and the wider community.

Your role as an Assistant will see you working to cover maternity leave for 2021, this position will commence in mid-April 2021. You will be working part time 37.5 hours per week. The contract end date will be 10th December 2021, with possibility of extension into 2022.

The successful educator will pride themselves on their passion and dedication for early education within the learning environment. We are looking for someone with exceptional skills to build relationships with families and children and who is dedicated to furthering their own learning as an early childhood professional.

Ideal applicants will have:

  • Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care or higher
  • Current first aid/CPR including asthma and anaphylaxis
  • Previous experience working with the 3-5 age group in a Kindergarten setting desirable
  • Understanding of your duties as an Assistant educator and be a team player
  • Passion for creating and delivering a simulating learning environment
  • An understanding of the provision of a safe, well planned indoor and outdoor learning environment
  • Awareness of the National Quality Framework and Queensland Kindergarten guidelines
  • Skilled with documenting observations of children's behaviour and development, in the form of learning stories.
  • An ability to implement a planned program, in collaboration with the Teacher ensuring the needs of individual children and the group are met
