The Opportunities

CRC’s Miranda Project is a pilot project co-located at Penrith Women’s Health Centre to provide support to women in the criminal justice system at risk of domestic and family violence. The Hub includes the safe drop-in space and group programs in conjunction with Penrith Women’s Health Centre.

As a Hub Support Worker on our Miranda Project, you’ll be at the heart of a high-impact team. Supported by Senior Case Workers and teammates, your role includes:

  • Project and client support: Providing a broad range of support for the Miranda Hub staff and clients, project admin, supporting group work and casework services will make up most of your day. You’ll approach every task with empathy, keeping our clients’ goals front and centre.
  • Creating community connections for clients: Using both outreach and Hub drop-in models you'll work with women at the Penrith Women’s Health Centre, women in the community on an outreach basis, as well as women in NSW Correctional Centres. The goal? To ensure long-term supports, reduce incarceration and reduce recidivism.
  • Cultural safety: You’ll work in culturally appropriate ways in recognition of the unique cultural needs and over-representation of First Nations people in the criminal justice system.

Your usual work hours will be Monday to Friday, with occasional out-of-hours work, as required.
