About the business
The Canberra Rape Crisis Centre (CRCC) is a non-government, not for profit, feminist organisation working to eliminate sexual violence against women, young people, children, families and men.
This is a woman only position under s 34 (1) of the Discrimination Act 1991 which does not make it unlawful for a person to discriminate against someone else on the grounds of sex in relation to a position as an employee, contract worker etc, if it is a genuine occupational qualification for the position.
All CRCC employees must:

Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Support leadership team and staff groups in all aspects of administration, with a keen focus on continuous improvement and being proactive.
- Develop and maintain detailed administrative and procedural processes that reduce duplication, improve accuracy and efficiency and achieve organisational objectives.
- Maintain CRCC paper and electronic records and documents in accordance with organisational procedures and legislative requirements, including filing systems, membership registers and communication systems.
- Ensure an adequate supply of office materials and consumables.
- Assist with coordinating building maintenance, including WHS and compliance.
- Prepare, monitor and update staff rosters.
- Respond effectively to enquiries and provide routine advice as required
- Manage multiple competing priorities calmly and efficiently and use initiative to solve problems as they occur.
- Identify and escalate issues to senior leadership team members as required.
- Carry out other administrative and ad hoc tasks as directed.
Mandatory requirements:
- High level of computer literacy including use of Word, email and information databases.
- Previous experience in providing administrative assistance to a busy team.
- Proven ability to work independently within a team environment, to identify priorities, meet deadlines and to manage the workload.
- Demonstrated ability to work positively in a team to promote and model collaborative and respectful staff and client relationships.
- High level verbal and written communication skills.
- It is important that applicants have a level of self-awareness and emotional intelligence; must have the ability to manage the knowledge that our organisation supports survivors of sexual violence.
- Although this is an administrative role, our subject matter can pose challenges.
Desired Requirements:
Current knowledge and experience of the ACT community services and women’s services in the ACT.
Qualifications:
- Qualifications in business administration or relevant experience are required
- Current Driver's License
- Working with Vulnerable People Card
