The Community and Public Sector Union (State Public Services Federation Tasmania) is a union that represents thousands of Tasmanian's working across the public and community sectors. CPSU members work in the Tasmanian public sector, health and community care, prisons, universities, as well as Government owned and managed enterprises.

This job is based in the Member Advice and Support Team and would suit someone with movement building experience who has a passion for industrial law or an experienced Organiser who likes to do it all – individual advocacy as well as leading industrial campaigns with Delegates. Five years’ experience as an Organsier/Industrial Officer or equivalent role is preferred.

Key Activities:

• Provide industrial advice to members, delegates and officials.
• Represent members with employers and before industrial tribunals.
• Negotiate and draft collective agreements.
• Collaborate with Organisers to develop industrial and legal strategy for priority campaigns.
• Mentor Delegates to develop skills and confidence in the representation of members.
• Organise and negotiate to turn individual wins into policy change within Agencies.
• Lead local campaigns around enforcement of industrial rights.
• Maintain relevant case files on individual cases as allocated.
• Recruit new members.
• Develop written communications and deliver online and in-person training.
