About the Position

The Centre for Policy Development is looking for a Project Manager, who can provide comprehensive project management support across several of the Centre’s programs. Working closely with CPD’s senior staff, the successful candidate will be responsible for project managing the delivery of outputs and events related to designated major projects and initiatives, manage stakeholders and facilitate their input into working groups and project activities, and where required, assist in coordinating activities such as events, travel and other logistics.

The successful candidate can be Sydney or Melbourne based. The position can be part-time or full-time. Roles & responsibilities:

  • Project manage the delivery of research outputs and events related to the major projects and initiatives.
  • Act as the key, and often the primary contact, for stakeholders of the programs, facilitating their input to meeting sessions, working groups, paper and proposal development and other project activities.
  • Participate in consultation with key stakeholders and experts related to the programs.
  • Ensure key documentation for the programs are circulated to stakeholders and participants.
  • Assist in the preparation of funding proposals.
  • Facilitate and broker collaboration, strategic learning, organisational and partnership development.
  • Assist in promoting program-related research and analysis online, through the media, at conferences and meetings and at other public forums.
  • Where required, assist in coordinating travel, accommodation, transfers and other logistics for stakeholders and participants.

Selection Criteria

Essential

  • Proven project management experience in delivering projects, working with high-level management approaches and strategies across multiple programs and stakeholders, preferably in a policy-related field.
  • Exceptional time management and planning skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to work in a high performing team and in a collaborative environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver excellent results working to deadlines, under limited supervision, and coordinating multiple agendas and stakeholders.
  • Adaptability to changing priorities.
  • Sound analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of initiative.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Word, Powerpoint and Excel)/G-Suite and project management software (e.g. Redbooth).
  • Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable in a growing organisation.
  • Ability to work in a team and in a collaborative environment.

Desirable

  • Experience working in a policy environment (government or not for profit).
  • Knowledge/expertise in CPD’s key policy areas.
