The County Court of Victoria is established pursuant to the County Court Act 1958. It has original and appellate jurisdiction and is the principal trial court in the State of Victoria. The Court hears over 11,000 criminal, common law and commercial cases each year. The County Court has unlimited monetary jurisdiction in common law and commercial matters. In its criminal jurisdiction, the Court hears all indictable offences except treason, murder and related offences.

There are a total of 70 Judges of the Court and over 200 staff, including judicial support staff. The County Court regularly conducts circuit sittings at 12 circuit courts situated in major centres throughout regional Victoria.

Reporting to the Director, Specialist Courts, the Senior Project Manager (SPM) will provide leadership and project management expertise to drive the successful implementation of the Drug and Alcohol Treatment Court Project. The role will operate within a demanding and sensitive environment and requires the capacity to exercise sound judgement whilst effectively leading delivery of significant change. 

  • Lead, coordinate and deliver the implementation of a Drug and Alcohol Treatment Court pilot to the County Court of Victoria within scope and within the nominated time frame and allocated budget
  • Identify, plan and document activities at each phase of the project ensuring deliverables in alignment with the organisation’s objectives and strategic priorities.
  • Proactively identify, manage and escalate risks or issues affecting successful implementation of the project/s
  • Provide expert stakeholder engagement, management and communications throughout the project lifecycle by building and sustaining strong relationships with key personnel across CCV directorates, other court stakeholders, government departments, and key organisations including the establishment of committee, groups and forums as required.
  • Leverage insights and market knowledge, including undertake extensive data and information collection, analysis, and appropriate assessment of the project and associated change initiative to identify requirements and gaps relating to the scope of work, providing advice and recommendations for progressing the necessary implementation activities.
  • Prepare and present well informed, high quality, accurate and timely reports, briefs and papers on matters relating to the expansion of Drug and Alcohol Treatment Court and record and track key activities and outcomes.
