About us

The Magistrates' Court of Victoria (MCV) is a jurisdiction within the Court Services Victoria statutory authority, and has a long history of providing justice for the people of Victoria in metropolitan and regional courts across the state.

The Court determines in excess of 300,000 cases per annum at 51 venues, equating to approximately 90 per cent of all cases that come before Victorian courts each year.  The Court aims to be an innovative, accessible and responsive court that provides quality services to the Victorian community.

About the role

The Senior Policy Officer manages and coordinates the development and implementation of a range of policy briefings, analysis and operational documentation to contribute to the delivery of policy initiatives that support the activities of the Family Violence Branch.

The Senior Policy Officer will use strong conceptual and analytical abilities to drive and contribute to policy development, which achieves strategies identified in the MCV's Family Violence Vision Statement. The role requires engagement across courts and justice agencies to develop reform options and solutions.

The role will also collaborate with a team of family violence practice and project officers, in contribution to the broader development and delivery of court services and programs that support, protect and improve the outcomes for victims of family violence and hold perpetrators to account for their behaviour.
