This is an exciting opportunity to join the Ballarat Magistrates' Court to pilot an innovative family violence initiative in response to the Royal Commission into Family Violence.
The Magistrates’ Court of Victoria (MCV) has a long history of serving the people of Victoria in metropolitan and regional courts across the state. The MCV is responsible for delivery of 26 of the 227 recommendations from the Royal Commission into Family Violence (RCFV) and is impacted by the delivery of approximately 100 other RCFV recommendations. The Family Violence Policy and Practice Unit leads service excellence in family violence responses within the MCV.
The role of the Advanced Family Safety Practitioner, Integrated Counselling and Case Management (ICCM) is to provide advanced assessment and case management in regard to victim-survivors, including provision of support, advocacy and risk management. The role will assess the experiences and needs of victim survivors including those of children.
You will have existing knowledge and skills in specialist family violence service provision and service system collaboration as well as experience applying evidence-informed understanding of family violence and support victim-survivor agency and autonomy.
