COTA SA
  • Coordinate the "Connecting our way out of COVID" social connections project
  • Ageing well, social inclusion, community engagement, project management, volunteer coordination focus
  • Part-time (0.8FTE) role commencing Nov/Dec for 12 months

Bring your experience in community engagement, ageing well, volunteers and project management to help COTA SA deliver an exciting new project with social impact, and support older South Australians to live their best lives post COVID restrictions.

ABOUT THE ROLE

COTA SA is the peak body for 633,000 older people in South Australia. We believe ageing is a time of possibility, opportunity and influence and we offer a wide range of programs and services designed with, by and for older people.

We're now seeking a Project Officer to drive an exciting new 12 month project called "Connecting our Way out of COVID", designed to support older people's wellness goals through connecting and reconnecting them with social programs in their community, following the COVID-19 restrictions.

Working to broad direction from our Community Programs Manager, and supported by COTA SA's administrative, communications, volunteer and management staff, you will recruit, train and coordinate a team of older volunteers to engage directly with older people in the community and deliver a well-run service that connects them with appropriate social supports to improve their wellbeing.

You will work with staff across COTA SA to promote the project and its impact in a variety of ways, including through the production of a podcast series to profile customer stories. You will also assist volunteers and older people to connect and maintain friendships through other complementary COTA SA programs including COTA Visitors, COTA SA's Community Visitors Scheme.

You will ensure that services are delivered with a high level of accountability and professionalism and that plans, procedures and protocols are in place. You will work to achieve KPIs, be responsible for data and records management and produce regular reports including for the project's funder, the Adelaide Primary Health Network.

The role is offered on a part-time basis of 0.8FTE (work days flexible and negotiable) commencing in November or December 2020, for a period of 12 months. You will be required to work from home initially using a COTA SA supplied laptop and phone, and from COTA SA's new Hutt Street office from January.

ABOUT YOU

To be successful in this role, you will need demonstrated experience coordinating community projects with volunteers and ideally, with older people.

You will be an excellent communicator and a true people person, with well-developed admin skills to keep the project running smoothly.

Importantly, we are also looking for someone with a professional understanding of social isolation and social inclusion strategies, and awareness of the wide range of social supports available to older people in metropolitan Adelaide.

Your understanding and passion for social connection will be key to helping COTA SA support older people to live their best lives.

You will need a current Police clearance for working with vulnerable people and a full, unrestricted South Australian Driver's License.
