The Organisation

CYS is a not for profit organisation that offers a broad range of services, including headspace, for young people aged 12-25 throughout North and North West Tasmania. All services are offered free of charge. CYS provides high quality primary and clinical health services as well as information, advice and referrals for young people, their families and caregivers. CYS works across the youth mental health sector in developing innovative and responsive models of service provision and strives to excel in the delivery of services to young people. CYS also works in partnership with government and non-government organisations, services users and the community.

The Role

Reporting to the Board, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will have the following key tasks and responsibilities:

  1. Board administration and support: supports the operations and administration of the Board by advising and informing Board members; interfacing between the Board, staff and Clinical Governance Committee; and supporting the Board’s evaluation of the performance of the CEO.
  2. Program, product and service delivery: oversee the design, marketing, promotion, delivery and quality of existing and new programs, products and services.
  3. Financial, tax, risk and facilities management: recommend yearly budget for Board approval; prudently manage the organisation’s resources within budget guidelines according to current laws and regulations.
  4. Human resources management: effectively manage the human resources of the organisation according to authorised human resources policies and procedures that fully conform to current laws and regulations.
  5. Community and public relations: assure the organisation and its mission, programs, products and services are consistently presented in strong, positive image to relevant stakeholders.
  6. Resourcing: oversee funding planning and implementation, including identifying resource requirements; researching funding sources; establishing strategies to approach funders; submitting proposals and administering fundraising records and documentation.
  7. Governance: ensure strong and effective corporate and clinical governance across all areas of the organisation.

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant business or allied health discipline with appropriate and relevant experience at executive or senior management level.
  • A current Tasmanian driver’s licence or equivalent.
  • A current Working with vulnerable people check or equivalent.
