Cootharinga North Queensland is a quality service provider that has been supporting children and adults with disabilities across North Queensland since 1951. Our area of operation extends from Sarina south of Mackay up to Cairns and the Tablelands, west to the gulf country, including Mornington Island, and Mount Isa.

Cootharinga North Queensland’s business is growing rapidly and are seeking experienced support workers to meet our customer demands.

Our Regions include but not limited to Mackay, Townsville, Cairns & Far North, Mount Isa, Normanton and Croydon.

Your role is:

• To provide high quality supports and services to your customers to ensure that their goals and objectives are being met.
• To work autonomously, and, as part of a collaborative team in a range of work locations to promote the customer’s dignity and independence and facilitate strong community interactions.
• To foster meaningful relationships with your customers, family members, decision makers and relevant government authorities.

We are looking for experienced recruits who have achieved the below minimum requirements:

• Minimum 12 months experience in Disability Support; or a
• Certificate III or higher in Individual Support

Mandatory requirements include

• Working entitlements in Australia
• Currently hold a Working with Children - Blue Card
• NDIS Worker Screening Check - Yellow Card
• A current Driver Licence, acceptable under Queensland Legislation
• Applicants are required to either possess or be willing to obtain a First Aid Certificate including CPR. 
• Applicants required to undergo and pass Drug and Alcohol testing and a Pre-employment Functional Assessment
• It is a condition of employment that you obtain a fully maintained smart phone or similar device with Wi-Fi access for work purposes
