Are you looking for a chance to make a difference at a grass-roots level? The opportunity to promote quality inclusion of all children in their local preschool is at your doorstep with the Sector Capacity Building program at Connect Child and Family Services.

We are seeking the skills of an exceptional Early Childhood Teacher committed to providing positive outcomes for children enrolled in 15 community based preschools across the Blue Mountains and Districts. You will work closely with preschool staff to identify any barriers to inclusion, develop solutions, and provide information, training, mentorship and resources to build the preschools capacity to include children with disabilities and additional needs. You will have access to the professional skills of an experienced and dedicated Early Intervention team and the integral resources of Connect Child and Family services. The position will be 30 hours per week on a temporary contract until 30 June 2021.

About you…

You are a university qualified Early Childhood Teacher who has a strong understanding of the NDIS and experience working with children with disabilities or development delays and their families. You have a commitment and passion for the rights of every child to be included in their community.

You will have:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in an Early childhood or disability setting
  • Demonstrated experience working with a strengths-based, solutions focussed approach
  • Working knowledge of developmental milestones for children aged 0-5
  • Experience in program adaptions for children with Autism and other disabilities
  • Current Driver’s Licence and reliable vehicle
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently, managing multiple demands
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • Current Police check
  • Integrity, creativity and a sense of humour
  • Commitment to the ethos and ethics of the organisation
  • Familiarity with a range of information technology for communication and training purposes
