About the role

The purpose of the role is to:

Provide high level coordination and support to the Congress and Remote Health Boards where Congress delivers services to meet their governance and management accountabilities under the Corporations (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander) Act 2006 (CATSI Act).

The role:

  • Leading secratiariat functions, acting as contact person for and coordinating meetings for the five remote advisory boards to Congress based in Amoonguna, Mpwelarre (Santa Teresa), Ntaria (Hermannsberg), Mutitjulu and Utju (Areyonga), including travel to these sites
  • Provides high level secretariat and administrative support to the Legal and Governance team within the Office of the CEO as required, to delegated aspects of the Congress Board and Annual General Meeting schedules including supporting members to attend.
  • Coordinate governance related travel requirements and related expense claims in accordance with Congress travel and expense policies.
  • Leading meeting logistics for governance related meetings including governance training ensuring rooms are booked, calendar invites sent, catering ordered, Zoom details provided, travel arranged.
  • Timely and efficient administration of the Board calendar, including diary management through outlook and preparing the draft annual meeting schedule.
  • Coordinating proof of Aboriginality applications to be considered by the Congress Board of Directors and liaising with applicants.
  • Track data and attendance for 6 monthly corporate plan reporting
  • Keep the membership register for Congress up to date in line with the requirements of the CATSI Act.

This role works closely with the Legal and Governance Manager/Company Secretary to support the governance requirements of the corporations associated with Congress. Congress provides a comprehensive primary health care service to Aboriginal people in Alice Springs and some nearby remote communities.
