Multiple Sclerosis Limited (MS) is a Not for Profit organisation, and a leading source of information, advice and services for individuals living with multiple sclerosis. The focus of the organisation is to help minimise the impact of multiple sclerosis on individual lives and provide ongoing support to ensure their journey is not undertaken alone.

The Role:

We are seeking an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist to join our rapidly growing Specialist Employment Support Service team in a full-time capacity. Currently based from home due to Covid-19 but usually based in Footscray with an option to work from Geelong, you will play a pivotal role in supporting people diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) to maintain their employment, providing advice on whole of life factors which may impact their ability to remain in work. You will be well supported by structured induction/training, supervision, and a large team of passionate allied health professionals.

Ideal Candidate:

Self-motivated and ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team

  • An ability to problem-solve; think laterally and creatively
  • Excellent organisational, planning and time management skills
  • Ability to build rapport with clients, employers, and suppliers
  • Demonstrated computer literacy

Your Responsibilities:

Managing a caseload of clients whilst conducting holistic, functional, physical, cognitive and vocational assessments.

  • Identifying vocational/non-vocational barriers and providing individualised advice and strategies to help individuals with MS maintain their employment
  • Supporting people to manage whole of life factors which impact employment
  • Recommending and organising workplace modifications, equipment and strategies to assist individuals to remain working
  • Educating employers and co-workers

Qualifications:

Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy; and registered with AHPRA.

  • Current Driver's License
  • Experience working in community settings, case management and/or in Disability Employment or Occupational Rehabilitation Sectors is highly desired.
  • Recent graduate applications will be considered

Flexible Working Arrangements & Salary:

This is a contract full-time position with possibility of becoming ongoing offering a salary commensurate to your level of experience + Super + Salary Packaging options. The nature of this case management role enables flexible working arrangements as required. As part of your employment you will be provided with a touch screen laptop, iPhone and access to pool cars and/or reimbursed per km for own vehicle usage.

Please note: The appointed candidate must successfully complete a National Police Check (possibly an International Police Check), a Working with Children Check and a Disability Workers Exclusion Scheme check prior to the commencement of employment.

From 1 November 2017, there is a requirement for all workers within a disability services organisation in Victoria to be screened against the Disability Worker Exclusion Scheme (DWES) List. A notification may also be made to the DWES unit should it be determined through other safety screening processes, such as a police check, that a person may fall within DWES criteria.
