The Role

The CNHC Registered Nurse will be working closely with the support workers to ensure that the clients are well cared for. The CNHC Registered Nurse should be able to deliver complex care, assess CNHC support staffs’ skillsets in a particular unit of complex care and provide advice and direction to support workers as required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

• Provide clinical nursing services within the Home and Community Care segment to people with intellectual and physical disabilities.
• Working with the clients and their families to help prevent disease, maintain health, and treat and existing health conditions
• Support clients in maintaining their independence, safety, and healthy lifestyle
• Undertake health assessments and contribute to client welfare
• Delivering Acute Care
• Maintaining accurate and complete health care records
• Administering medication and monitoring them for side effects and reactions
• Monitoring, reporting, and recording symptoms or changes in patient conditions
• Supervising and coordinating the work of other ENs and Support workers
• Other duties and responsibilities as required

Essential for the position:

• At least 1 year experience in working with patients under the requirements of the NDIS
• At least 2 years of experience in providing support and care for patients with disabilities
• Current AHPRA registration as a RN Div 1
• Excellent communication and cultural sensitivity
• NDIS Worker Screening Check Clearance
