The Role

In this role you will be working directly with people living with complex trauma and psycho-social challenges. You will provide direct support across a 24/7 roster to the participant to follow their therapeutic NDIS goals and assist the individual in building their capacity.

You will be responsible for providing day to day support to our participants, this ranges from support within in-home, day to day activities, and accessing the community.

You will need the ability to provide specialist care such as PEG Feeding, hoisting, overnight respite, and dealing with complex behaviours.

As a Disability Support Worker, you will:

  • Support clients to identify and achieve goals
  • Support daily living activities through capacity building
  • Maximise independence and confidence through enabling clients to access the community
  • Implement unique behaviour support plans
  • Implement routines and structures through positive role modelling

  • Build effective relationships with clients and their families and carers

Must Haves:

  • Minimum of Cert 3 in Aged Care/ Disability/ HACC/ Individual Support OR O/S Nurse/ Doctors OR Currently pursuing Bachelors/ Diploma of Nursing with at least 1 completed placements
  • Experience in Disability Home Care, Aged Care and/or Community Work
  • Current Australian Drivers License
  • Own vehicle with comprehensive car insurance
  • Current National Police Clearance (obtained within the last 12 months)
  • Current Working with Children Check (WWCC)
  • Current First Aid Certificate (HLTAID 003)
  • Manual Handling Certificate
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
