We are actively seeking disability support workers situated throughout Perth within the following key areas and surrounding suburbs: Armadale, Gosnells, Belmont, Victoria Park, Canning, Cockburn, Fremantle, Rockingham to Mandurah, Serpentine.

ABOUT THE ROLE

In this client focused role, you will join a welcoming team to support participants who may have complex medical needs and behaviours within their own homes or shared accommodation.

Some participants require 24/7 support so it is important that you are available to work a variety of shifts including nights and weekends. Assisting with personal care (showering, dressing etc) is a requirement of the role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follow individual support plans, behaviour support plans and health care plans
  • Maintain and monitor a client’s person-centred support plan
  • Personal care including assistance with showering and grooming
  • Preparation of light meals as required
  • Assisting with medication administration
  • Daily documenting client's activities through progress notes
  • Cleaning, general housekeeping and household tasks
  • Tidying up common areas, making beds and washing linen
  • Other duties as required from time to time

WHAT YOU WILL POSSESS:

  • Certificate III in individual support (disability) or equivalent
  • Current first aid
  • NDIS worker screening clearance
  • NDIS worker orientation
  • Current certificate in manual handling
  • Current drivers licence, reliable vehicle with comprehensive car insurance
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A genuine passion to provide individualised supports
  • A can-do attitude
  • Additional training, skills and qualifications will be advantageous such as catheter care, epilepsy management, seizure management, medication administration, bowel therapy etc.
