Volunteer Coordinator (voluntary) - Coffs Harbour

Community Union Defence League

The Community Union Defence League is looking for a volunteer coordinator for the Coffs Harbour wing of its organisation. CUDL is a nationwide network of volunteers working in the areas of homelessness, community support, and mutual aid. We operate street kitchens, crisis support, and domestic services for people in need.

CUDL has been running a street kitchen for the homeless and at-risk since 2020. We operate at the Coffs Memorial Pool park every Sunday afternoon, providing hot, home-cooked meals, clothing, and conversation. We are looking for a volunteer coordinator who is responsible for:

  • Organising the weekly roster
  • Coordinating with volunteers to pick up groceries from our donors and dropping them at the houses of our cooks.
  • Picking up serving equipment on Sundays and taking them down to the park.
  • Helping to serve at the kitchen/chat with the service-users
  • Helping to pack down and taking equipment back to storage.
  • Liaising with other homelessness services
  • Replenishing stocks ahead of Sunday kitchens.

You will work closely with our Program Coordinator, who will also liaise between you and the national organisation. While organising experience is preferred, it is not necessary. Knowledge of homelessness services in Coffs recommended.
