The Role

We are now looking to hire a Senior Case Manager on a permanent full time basis to provide local operational leadership in the delivery of our high quality outcome focused ParentsNext pre-employment program based in Mackay. Reporting to the ParentsNext Team Leader, this role will include mentoring a local team of Case Managers and play a key part in developing committed partnerships with key employers in the region with a view to gain repeat business and leverage further partnerships across our business streams.

The position will carry a reduced caseload (due to additional leadership duties) and will also involve assisting parents to identify achievable goals and activities that will support their transition to employment and/or further their education and training. This may include referrals to specialist services, facilitating group activities and linking parents with community based supports.

Other key duties will include:

• Lead and drive a high performance culture focused on outcomes and key performance criteria for all roles.
• Maintaining regular contact with participants and employers, providing advice and comprehensive pre-employment support to achieve outcome milestones.
• Conduct work readiness assessments and support participants to identify their barriers to employment and personal and vocational goals.
• Liaise with stakeholders such as Services Australia (Centrelink), employment services, education and vocational training providers, community services and employers for the benefit of connecting participants.
• Supporting the team to meet key performance indicators that demonstrate effective support for participants including participation and activity requirements and that meet contractual requirements.

About You

You will come with previous leadership/mentoring experience and have a solid understanding of the issues experienced by parents, including barriers to education, training and employment.

The successful applicant will also ideally have:

• Demonstrated experience working with families with multiple and complex needs
• Excellent interpersonal and consultation skills to enable the fostering of strong networks with employers and community groups
• Knowledge of current labour markets and programs
• Ability to build rapport and motivate clients
• Strong administrative and compliance capabilities
• Positive attitude and a willingness to learn and adapt
• Focus to deliver high performance

A current and valid driver’s licence is essential, as is a current Blue Card and Yellow Card, or the willingness to gain one.
