The organisation runs three environmental repair social enterprises – Green Connect, Soft Landing and Resource Recovery Australia – together with a range of community services. Last year we provided jobs for 650 people across Australia, 79% of whom experienced barriers to employment.

We are seeking to employ an incredible Safety and Wellbeing Lead who will operate across the organisation’s social enterprises, community services and business units to provide specialist expertise in safety and wellbeing practices.  

This role provides specialist advice through consultation; will develop and continually improve our safety management plan; consult with and comply with regulatory bodies; and provide reporting that tells a story about our progress.

Essential criteria

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Psychology, or related specialist field
  • Certification in Work Health and Safety, Return to Work Coordination, or equivalent experience
  • Certificate IV in Training and Evaluation
  • White card

Your experience

  • Expert knowledge and application of the Work Health and Safety Act, state based WHS legislation and Regulatory environments
  • Understanding of complex and varied operational environments and creative methods in appropriately engaging a diverse workforce
  • Managing Worker’s Compensation, ideally across multiple states
  • Implementation of safety and wellbeing activities which demonstrate culture shift or increased proficiency
  • Strength-based coaching and positive safety and wellbeing practices
  • Working with culturally and linguistically diverse groups
  • Highly developed and relatable interpersonal skills
  • Collaboration with employees at all levels
  • Commitment and leadership in cultural awareness, values alignment and safety & wellness

We will evaluate applications as they arrive, so get in quick to be part of an amazing team. Please note: we have identified the role as Sydney based but do have flexibility around this, particularly around the Tuncurry / Wollongong areas.
