About this role

Part Time min 60 hrs per fortnight – out of hours & weekend work required.

Safe Space is an after-hours service that operates 7 days a week. From Monday to Friday staff will work from 4.30pm until 9:30pm, while Saturday and Sunday hours will vary.

Provide leadership & operational oversight to Communify’s safe space program.

Working closely with the Manager of Mental Health Programs, the Team Leader will have responsibility to provide day to day program management of the Communify Safe Space ensuring fidelity of the service model is maintained with particular regard to:

  • Service delivery tools and templates
  • Monthly and quarterly reporting templates
  • Governance and Safe Space Network activities

The Team Leader will also draw on their practice skills and own lived experience to provide advice and consultancy to staff as it relates to distress and suicidal risk. This will include the provision of risk management support on an adhoc basis as well as through regular individual and group supervision.

Duties

  • Coordinate effective service delivery using a person-centred support approach
  • Lead & mentor the small team of 4
  • Respond to & coordinate all referrals with effective communication pathways
  • Ensure access to high quality aftercare for guests of the program
  • Manage a budget, complete reporting requirements and focus on quality

Skills & experience

  • Tertiary qualifications and registration with relevant professional body
  • Lived experience of your own mental illness is preferable but not essential
  • Experience managing service delivering mental health, suicide prevention and aftercare
  • High level of interpersonal skills, communicating effectively with range of stakeholders
  • Blue card, Police check, Open Drivers licence
  • Must be fully Covid-19 vaccinated
