About the role

  • Provide clinical & non-clinical psychosocial supports to assist individuals to achieve their recovery goals
  • Provide outreach and in-reach services
  • Engage participants and develop trust, culturally appropriate, trauma informed professional relationships
  • Work collaboratively with participants to identify their needs, complete intake & assessment duties to ensure that there is a focus set on individual goals within an individualised supportive framework
  • Work in partnership with service providers and community groups to ensure the development & implementation of shared support plans across services

Role criteria

  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work or Allied Health
  • Extensive (2+ years) experience working in Community and/or Mental Health Services
  • Comprehensive understanding of group work plus the confidence to support the facilitation of psychosocial therapy/ support groups
  • Thorough understanding of supporting participants with severe and complex mental health challenges
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially written communication
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in computer skills, particularly word processing skills and data management systems
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute as part of a team to provide a safe, equitable and rewarding workplace

Core requirements

  • National criminal Record check - disclosable outcomes considered
  • Open Queensland Drivers Licence

About the Recovery and Discovery Centre

The Recovery and Discovery Centre is designed to provide clinical and non-clinical support services (both individual and group) to people with a severe mental illness and associated psychosocial functional impairment who are not more appropriately supported through the NDIS. These supports are focused around capacity building and connectedness. The Recovery and Discovery Centre is staffed by a multi-disciplinary team who provide psychosocial supports, clinical care coordination and group psychological therapies and has partnered with a number of organisations to provide integrated care. With a framework based on the Recovery Model, the Recovery and Discovery Centre provides support that is strengths-based, client-centred and trauma-informed.
