About the role

This position sits in the AOD and Homelessness Cluster. The cluster delivers value-based care through codesign and by developing the capacity and capability for teams to work to the top of their scope of practice and in self-organising ways.

As our new Dual Diagnosis Clinician, you will use multidisciplinary, assertive, integrated and flexible care approaches which address immediate support needs, coordination and consumer-directed care planning through to longer-term support to clients with complex dual diagnosis presentations, either individually or in a group.

Your daily duties will vary but your main focus will include:

  • Provide recovery-oriented primary care services to clients with a dual diagnosis
  • Provide direct service delivery to clients with complex dual diagnosis presentations, either individually or in group settings
  • Support clients to access other appropriate services in an effective and timely manner
  • In conjunction with H2H team, provide crisis intervention management for complex and challenging clients
  • Build relationships and work collaboratively with specialist services to provide a coordinated response to improve clients physical and mental health and wellbeing

Who are we looking for?

  • Tertiary qualifications in Nursing / Psychiatric Nursing and eligibility to join the relevant professional body (including AHPRA)
  • At least three years of mental health and/or AOD sector experience
  • Relevant professional and/or lived experience
  • Experience working with, and an awareness of the issues that affect, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and people from marginalised communities
  • Ability to speak a relevant community language would be an advantage
