  • Provide high quality & impactful advice to the Centre of Innovative Justice (CIJ) and Graduate School of Business and Law on the Clinical Legal Education Program, which links to the Juris Doctor program including Postgraduate Business Internship, the Legal Research Project, the study tour and other student placement opportunities
  • Play a pivotal role in supporting the CIJ, Mental Health Legal Centre, the Law and Advocacy Centre for Women and Youthlaw to develop & expand clinical opportunities for students
  • Opportunity to contribute to CIJ research, advocacy and communications and be part of a supportive, close-knit team
  • Report to the Integrated Practice Manager
  • Remuneration at HEW Level 8 ($97,609 - $109,925) + 17% superannuation

About the role and college / portfolio

The Centre for Innovative Justice

The Centre was established in 2012 to research, teach and promote modern and innovative ways of delivering justice both through formal court processes and within and across the broader justice system. 

The Centre’s objective is to drive, develop and expand the capacity of the justice system to meet and adapt to the needs of its diverse users, and to contribute in a positive way to addressing the underlying issues that bring people into contact with the justice system.

About you

You will have demonstrated knowledge and experience of the legal sector, including practical experience establishing and delivering programs or services within a Community Legal Centre environment. You will also have extensive exposure in developing programs and in the supervision of law students and volunteers in a Community Legal Centre environment in relation to case work, policy, law reform and research activities. Coming into this position, you will use your project coordination & project management experience, including your excellent stakeholder management skills, implementation, negotiation, evaluation and reporting.

Qualifications 

Degree in Law is essential as is a commitment to social justice, human rights and promoting innovative strategies for delivering justice. In addition, a candidate with postgraduate qualifications in Public Policy or Law (completed or progress towards completion) is highly regarded.
