A little bit about this position

This key leadership position leads our Environmental Sustainability & Open Spaces department. With environmental sustainability at the centre, this team coordinates the design, planning, building, renewal and enhancement of open space infrastructure within our community. A crucial element to the success of this team is the deep level of community engagement and consultation that is required to ensure a truly customer centred approach.

You will have experience in creating, designing and implementing initiatives to reduce pollution, protect biodiversity and invest in renewable energy technology, aimed at minimising our environmental footprint. You will communicate with conviction, lead with purpose and ensure there is clarity around expectations, deliverables and strategic priorities. You will work with our hands on crew across our sporting fields, urban forests and beautifully kept parks to ensure that our open spaces are welcoming, utilised and provide a great space for our community to connect.

Having a relevant qualification in environmental science, land management or sustainability is required as is experience in the coordination and implementation of large scale projects.
