If so, this is your chance to apply for the position of Recruitment and HR Officer, to provide high-quality recruitment and onboarding support to the Coalition of Peaks Policy and Secretariat Team (CoP Secretariat).

About the organisation

The Coalition of Peaks is a representative body of more than 80 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community controlled peak organisations and members who have come together to Close the Gap, in partnership with Australian governments.

We share a belief that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people should have a meaningful say on policies and programs related to Closing the Gap through formal partnerships with Australian governments at all levels.

The CoP Secretariat Team supports the work of the Coalition of Peaks, providing high level and comprehensive policy and strategic advice to Peaks Members, to support the implementation and monitoring of actions in the National Agreement on Closing the Gap.

About the role

The Recruitment and HR Officer will support the Senior HR Project Manager to undertake a number of end-to-end recruitment processes and provide broader HR assistance as required. The Recruitment and HR Officer will use their creativity and knowledge of contemporary practices to create recruitment processes that attract quality candidates for vacancies within the Team.

The position will be offered as a full-time, fixed-term contract for 6 months to undertake specific projects. There may be a possibility of further employment after the initial 6 months.

About you

You will bring a customer-service focus, well-developed administrative and coordination skills and have a strong foundation of cultural competency, to meet our high standards of engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. You will be able to progress your work tasks with reasonable independence working under broad supervision.

Having prior recruitment experience will be highly regarded, but we will also consider applicants who can demonstrate transferable skills relevant to the role and an interest in transitioning to the field of recruitment and HR.
