Who We Are...

The Apprenticeship Community is a collaboration of two leading not for profit organisations, BUSY At Work and CoAct, that's designed specifically for Western Australian employers and apprentices. We are proud and excited to announce that we have been successful in securing a new Australian Apprenticeship Support Network (AASN) contract for Outback WA.

We know that the apprenticeship and traineeship value proposition in the workplace is a good one.  It's great for employers needing skilled and committed people in their workplace and for apprentices and trainees where they gain a recognised qualification and real-time experience as they build their career.

And that's where you come in...

As our Career and Placement Advisor, you will play an important role in helping to shape the careers and sustainable employment pathways for young people. You will help your clients to identify their strengths and interests and align these with the workforce needs in their community, including Apprenticeship and Traineeship opportunities. Once suitable opportunities are identified, you will partner with your clients to secure them placement opportunities and assist them in their transition to work.

What you will bring…

  • Previous experience in career development, employment services or recruitment
  • Business development or sales experience - you are a whizz at reverse marketing
  • Experience running assessment centres and knowledge of online testing tools
  • A passion for assisting youth development and employment - you are committed to reaching employment outcomes
  • A heart of gold with a genuine desire to make a difference in someone's life
  • Experience in fostering and building solid relationships - you're a true people person
  • The ability to build trust with young people and use this to help motivate positive outcomes in their lives
  • Proven ability to work to and exceed KPIs in a dynamic, ever-changing environment
  • You feel the need to exceed expectations and take complete ownership of your role
  • You have a high level of computer literacy and an open driver's licence
  • It's highly desirable to have previous experience in apprenticeships or within a training, VET, employment or a recruitment setting

Please note, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a criminal history check.
