About the Role

CMY seeks a Project Support Officer to support the planning, delivery and evaluation of youth leadership projects at CMY, including a community development project to develop audio-visual resources to improve mental health literacy in communities living in the North West of Melbourne. The Project Support Officer will support the engagement and participation of young people and communities from Karen, Arabic speaking, Vietnamese, Pasifika and South Sudanese backgrounds and facilitate a consultative and co-design process with young people and communities, as such it is desirable that candidates have lived experience as a refugee or migrant from these backgrounds.

  • Hours: 30.4 hours per week (0.8 FTE) , Part Time
  • Fixed Term: until September 2021
  • Base Salary (SCHADS Level 3): $61,295 per annum (pro rata) plus Super and access to Salary Packaging
  • Location: CMY Carlton Office. (Due to COVID-19 restrictions, this role will require you to initially work from home and it is expected that the successful candidate will be able to accommodate this. The successful candidate will participate in a comprehensive orientation and will be provisionally assigned any relevant equipment)
  • Interviews: to be held in the week beginning 10 August 2020.

  • A passion for supporting young people to feel empowered, connected and influential
  • Experience in addressing barriers in mental health support
  • Commitment to co-design approaches
  • Great communication and teamwork skills
  • Desirable: Lived experience as a refugee or migrant from Karen, Vietnamese, South Sudanese, Pasifika or Arabic speaking backgrounds
