About the Role

The Multicultural Youth Worker – Youth Leadership will be responsible for the planning, delivery and evaluation of youth outreach and leadership projects at CMY. Specifically, the role will lead the coordination and management of youth volunteers from refugee and migrant backgrounds, facilitate and promote youth participation practices in research and evaluation and provide general support to the Youth Leadership team.

This role was created with support of the Victorian Government’s Working for Victoria initiative, and as part of CMY’s commitment to providing opportunities for young people from refugee and migrant backgrounds, who often face significant disadvantages in attaining professional work experience and opportunities. Only people from a migrant and refugee background who are 30 years and under whose employment has been impacted by COVID-19 are eligible to apply for this role under the special Measures provision section 12 (1) of the Equal Opportunity Act 2010 (Vic).

  • Hours: 38 hours (5 days) per week (1.0 FTE) , Full Time
  • Fixed Term: 6 month contract
  • Base Salary (SCHADS Level 4): $72,361 per annum plus Super and access to Salary Packaging
    (The Pay rate will be in accordance with the Fair Work Commissions’ pay guide as part of the Annual Wage review, effective 1 July 2021)
  • Location: CMY Carlton Office. However due to COVID-19 restrictions, this role will require you to work from home and the CMY Carlton office. It is expected that the successful candidate will be able to accommodate this. The successful candidate will participate in a comprehensive orientation and will be provisionally assigned any relevant equipment.
  • Interviews: to be held in the week beginning Monday 5th July 2021
