The Centre for Multicultural Youth (CMY) is a not-for-profit organisation based in Victoria, providing specialist knowledge and support to young people from refugee and migrant backgrounds. Our vision is that young people from migrant and refugee backgrounds are connected, empowered and influential Australians.
The Multicultural Youth Worker – Youth Leadership will be responsible for the planning, delivery and evaluation of youth outreach and leadership projects at CMY. Specifically, the role will lead the coordination and management of youth volunteers from refugee and migrant backgrounds, facilitate and promote youth participation practices in research and evaluation and provide general support to the Youth Leadership team.
This role was created with support of the Victorian Government’s Working for Victoria initiative, and as part of CMY’s commitment to providing opportunities for young people from refugee and migrant backgrounds, who often face significant disadvantages in attaining professional work experience and opportunities. Only people from a migrant and refugee background who are 30 years and under whose employment has been impacted by COVID-19 are eligible to apply for this role under the special Measures provision section 12 (1) of the Equal Opportunity Act 2010 (Vic).
CMY takes Child Safety seriously and short listed candidates are subject to child safety screening and assessment against child safety standards as part of our thorough recruitment process.
Applicants must have the right to work in Australia.
