Support Worker

Community Living Project Inc.
  • Casual
  • 15 hours per week
  • East Adelaide

Working alongside my family, day-to-day tasks will be guided by my vision, goals, and dreams. The focus is on enabling me to live a purposeful life in my community, maintaining a calm household, and building my competencies and valued roles.

There will be the opportunity to get to know and embrace my gifts, interests and skills to build a trusted relationship. I love my home and garden, art and crafts, going to the central market, and socialising over a coffee. I have a small business selling flower arrangements to local shops and businesses.

Duties include providing personal care, seizure response, assisting with communication and household tasks including laundry, meal preparation/cooking, cleaning, shopping, and support to live a healthy and holistic lifestyle.

The right person will join a team of dedicated workers to deliver support across a 24/7 roster. Key shifts needing to be filled include:

  • Monday 7:00pm-9:45am (overnight)
  • Friday 12:15-7:00pm
  • Saturday 12:00-5:00pm
  • Sunday 12:00-5:00pm
  • Sunday 5:00pm- 9:45am (overnight).

Working one overnight is essential. Availability to work other days when required would be an advantage.

I have a small easy-going dog so being pet-friendly is a must.

Previous work with an individual living with a disability and nursing experience is highly considered but not essential.

The role is paid at level 2.1 casual base rate: currently $38.08 per hour. Salary Packaging is also available.

Ongoing training and direction will be provided.

All applicants must have or be willing to obtain:

  • Driver’s licence and reliable vehicle
  • A current NDIS worker check
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Manual Handling training
  • Assist with Medication training
  • Proof of required COVID-19 vaccination prior to commencement (Current SA Health direction)
