Community Living Project (CLP) is seeking an enthusiastic and mature person to facilitate a good life for a woman in her 30s who lives with her family. They will be moving from interstate to Adelaide in July and will be living together in their home at Underdale. You will be working alongside the family to build rapport and learning about support needs from her parents. Your day to day tasks will be guided by the vision, goals, and dreams for woman’s life.
In partnership with the family you will work across a 24-hour, 7-day pw roster that includes overnights and active daytime support. Duties include providing personal care, seizure response, assisting with communication and support to live a healthy and holistic lifestyle, as well as access in the community and other commitments.
You will get to know and embrace the woman’s gifts, interests and skills and through this, help to facilitate her relationships in the local community. Her interests include her companion dog, her faith, walking, reading, going for drives, bird watching, camping, cooking, bike riding, watching TV, shopping, massage and music.
Over time, the family will be building a team of support and as a key worker, duties will include managing rosters and administrative tasks, learn and understand PODD communication system and provide support to the support team to enhance and actively contribute to the woman’s best life in a calm and empowering manner.
Previous work with an individual living with a disability and/ or a nursing background will be highly considered.
