About the role:

Closer care has exciting casual vacancies for Disability Support Workers across Sydney, with specific focus being on Mental Health. We are looking for passionate and driven people to join our team. If you are compassionate, hardworking, and dedicated to enhancing the lives of people with disabilities then we strongly encourage your application. Key responsibilities of the role include encouraging the participants’ involvement within the community and assisting them to achieve their goals. The role includes helping individuals who without your support may not perform basic hygiene tasks, such as hand washing and brushing teeth, in addition to daily living tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and doing laundry. Disability Support Workers could be responsible for transporting clients to therapy or doctor appointments or taking them shopping and completing other chores.

We require both male and female support workers for daytime supports.

What you will need:

  • Clear alignment to our organisation values
  • You’ll need to be a compassionate, empathetic, and detail-oriented person
  • Patience, a passion for helping people, and being a team player
  • Have at least 1-year of experience in the community care industry
  • Genuine desire to provide the best quality care for people with disabilities
  • Demonstrate awareness of disability issues
  • Excellent communication and proven computer skills
  • Initiative and drive to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Drivers license and access to a reliable/registered and insured vehicle
  • Clear and Current Working with Children Check
  • Cleared Criminal Record Check obtained within 12 months
  • Qualification relevant to the role will be well regarded
