The Clean Energy Council is the peak body for the clean energy industry in Australia.

We are a not-for-profit, membership-based organisation. We represent and work with Australia's leading renewable energy and energy storage businesses, as well as rooftop solar installers, to further the development of clean energy in Australia.

We stand up for the clean energy sector and work with local, state and federal governments to solve the technical, political and financial challenges faced by our industry. We deliver a wide range of services to our members, installers, retailers and the broader clean energy industry with the aim of growing the sector in the interests of all Australians. We also promote awareness of the industry, thought leadership and clean energy business opportunities through industry events, meetings, newsletters, directorates and the media.

Key objectives for the role are:

  • Customer Service - provide exceptional customer service by listening to the needs of each customer and action in a prompt, professional and courteous manner.
  • Providing technical advice - answer phone and email enquiries from accredited installers and designers providing advice on installation guidelines, electrical safety and various state and national regulations.
  • Assessing applications & proof of competency work - assess case study and proof of competence according to installation guidelines and other state and national regulations.
  • Risk and compliance processes - Identify and assess areas of risk for compliance functions and develop and enhance processes to manage compliance risks.
  • Compliance management - work to lift the level of compliance to the solar accreditation scheme, including the issuing of demerit points and proof of competence and professional development activities.
  • Technical Writing - develop and/or update various industry guidelines
  • Events support and involvement:
    • Speak at industry professional development events such as regional Installer nights
    • Conduct and run industry training
    • Help to develop webinar content
  • System improvement - continuous improvement and development of systems and processes
  • Project management/assistance - undertake project work as required by the team, e.g. creating processes and procedures for assessments as part of the compliance project

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • CEC Accredited PV designer/installer
  • A qualified Electrician
  • SPS Accreditation and/or CEC Battery Endorsement an advantage
  • Experience installing PV
  • Experience in answering highly technical questions, clearly and succinctly relaying technical information
  • Comprehensive knowledge of relevant legislative and statutory provisions, standards and frameworks relating to the PV sector and electricity supply sector
  • Strong computer skills - Microsoft Office suite of packages, especially Excel
  • Strong technical writing
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to quickly learn new processes and adapt to a changing work environment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organisation and time management skills
