Are you an Early Childhood Educator with a passion for making a difference in young children's lives?

Do you want to take your career to the next level?

Are you seeking a challenge with great opportunities?

Yarra City Council’s Children’s Services team is seeking dedicated candidates who are motivated and organised to fill multiple Early Childhood Educator positions.

Yarra is looking for dynamic educators with a strong understanding of the learning frameworks, National Quality Standards and the National Regulations. We want educators to join our team who know how to use their skills to provide a high quality program that will give children a positive start to their lifelong learning journey.

Ideal candidates will have experience in working collaboratively with colleagues, other members of the profession and the community and who contribute to children’s educational or developmental progress and wellbeing. You will have a strong commitment to high quality innovative programs for children and families in diverse communities. You will also be able to build sustained engagements with children and build strong relationships with colleagues, children, families and the community.

Educators from all of our services share their knowledge and innovation with each other and other units across the City of Yarra.

By joining a service managed by Yarra City Council, you will be given a unique opportunity to also align your educational programs, projects and practices with council endorsed strategies and plans to ensure the entire community is given the opportunity to meet its  potential.

Yarra provides educators with above award professional development and career opportunities, above industry pay and conditions, support of full time Educational Leaders who are not part of ratios. We value the growth and success of every educator and commit to providing all of our team members with the opportunity to join special project groups; engage in professional development and we also provide backfill for educators to be able to participate in reflective practice discussions with colleagues from other services.

Our centres are well equipped and our teams provide a positive work environment with collaborative leadership. Our educators say, “Yarra provides conditions that are some of the best available. I love our professional development days and appreciate the team work in my centre”.

Our full time educators typically work on a cycle of 19 consecutive 8 hour weekdays with each 20th day a rostered day off.

We know that delivering high quality educational programs requires time and input from all educators, this is why at Yarra, we offer all of our educators’ non-contact planning time each week.

If this sounds like the opportunity you are looking for, we would love to hear from you.
