Yarra Family, Youth and Children's Service's Branch is an innovative team that works inter-connectedly to support and improve the lives and outcomes of children, families and young people. Our community is diverse and engaged; and our services and programs need to be responsive and collaborative. 

Yarra Children's Services delivers a broad range of service types including long day care, 3 & 4 year old kindergarten, Outside School Hours Care, occasional care and casual care. We are committed to exploring and implementing the latest approaches to pedagogy with a particular focus on positive psychology, trauma practice and humanist theorists.

Connie Benn Early Learning Centre is in a hub located adjacent to the Atherton Gardens Estate. Other services located in the hub include Maternal Child Health, Playgroups, Occasional Care, family and community programs and Brotherhood of St. Laurence. Connie Benn ELC is spread across 8 rooms and is licensed for 109 children, including 32 sessional kindergarten places, 61 long day care places and 16 occasional care places.

The pedagogy and practice at Connie Benn is based in the values of inclusion, environmental sustainability and meeting the individual needs of children and families. 

The qualities we are looking in our candidate include

• Experience in children's services administration
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent Office 365 skills
• Ability to support families with complex and/or diverse needs through services processes and procedures
• Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise in a busy environment
• Enthusiasm and ability to support ELC projects
