North Carlton Children’s Centre is seeking a highly qualified leader in early childhood with extensive experience as a centre director to work in partnership with the Educational Leader/2IC (Non-Contact) to build an inclusive environment for children 0-6 and their families living in North Carlton.

We are looking for someone who has demonstrated experience in:

  • Undertaking the roles and responsibilities of a Nominated Supervisor
  • Managing the day to day business operations of an early childhood centre and sessional Kindergarten program
  • Submitting, auditing and reconciling Childcare Subsidy enrolments and payments
  • Ensuring the service operations meets set financial and operational targets
  • Positively leading a team of educators through a culture of critical reflection and continuous improvement
  • Providing quality education and care programs in line with the National Quality Standards
  • Meeting all aspects of compliance under the National Quality Framework and other relevant laws and acts
  • Inclusive service provision, including experience with children and families with complex needs and inclusion support
  • Working in partnership with other internal units to support the community more broadly 

This role will lead the delivery of the Long Day Care and Kindergarten programs. The Centre is in established in the North Carlton Community. The service focuses on the delivery of innovative, integrated services to children and their families.

Key aspects of this role are:

  • Lead the Early Learning Centre and Kindergarten in providing high quality responsive children’s services that reflect the diverse needs of the community
  • Manage and coordinate the operations of the Early Learning Centre, ensuring an environment of continuous improvement and professional development
  • Improve access and integration of Children’s Services, utilising a neighbourhood approach to service development and operation that provides the best social, health and developmental outcomes for children and families
  • Lead the establishment of respectful and collaborative partnerships between the Early Learning Centre, the families and community, and contribute to related services across the municipality
  • Work in partnership with the Team Leader of Children's Services Operations - Early Years and the Pedagogical Leader to drive exceptional quality in early education and care
