Do you have a passion for the City of Sydney's parks and the opportunities they provide for green, connected and vibrant local communities? We are looking for an experienced Parks Project Officer to assist the City Greening and Leisure, Program Delivery unit in delivering our capital works program.

The primary responsibilities of the role are to deliver high quality project management outcomes achieving time, quality, risk management, WHS and value for money objectives for a range of upgrade and renewal works within the City's parks and open spaces. The position will play a vital role in delivering the Sustainable Sydney 2030 Strategy and Greening Sydney Plan objectives.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated experience and capabilities in project management, landscape architecture/design or engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading, managing and controlling multiple parks and open space projects and contracts that respond to stakeholder expectations, provide value for money, are delivered on time and achieve corporate objectives.
  • Park and open space project management experience and a track record in managing all stages of the project lifecycle including feasibility, consultants and contractors, documentation, authority approvals, procurement processes, contract administration, risk management and handover.
  • Demonstrated experience in undertaking community consultation and liaising and building relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of the current materials, products, services, technologies and best practice methods in the landscape construction industry.
  • Accuracy, attention to detail and demonstrated time management and problem-solving skills, including the ability to effectively manage competing priorities and interests in a high volume environment.
  • Sound working knowledge in the following software packages: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Powerpoint, Microsoft Project and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Current Class C NSW driver's licence.
