About the role

This temporary 12 month position with a possibility of an extension of a further 12 month. This position is responsible for facilitating the development, delivery and evaluation of priority projects and programs within the City of Parramatta’s Community Capacity Building Team (CCB). To do this successfully, the position is required to work with a range of internal and external stakeholders within evidence-based community capacity building frameworks to respond to community needs and pursue opportunities to build thriving and resilient communities at multiple levels .

On a daily basis you will:

  • Undertaking data analysis
  • Internal/external stakeholder consultation
  • Project design/planning and implementation, monitoring and reporting
  • Performance measurement and evaluation of priority projects and programs

About the person

The successful candidate should have previous experience . It would be preferred but not essential for applicants to have a drivers licence and previous staff management experience.

Qualifications (Level)

  • Tertiary degree in Social Sciences or similar field

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a position related to community development or social sustainability.
  • Demonstrated experience and competence in working with communities to achieve improved outcomes for stakeholders including developing and implementing programs in response to identified community needs or strengths and particularly with disadvantaged communities
  • Strong experience in planning, delivering and evaluating projects, events or community campaigns including aptitude for online project management tools.

Skills

  • Highly developed interpersonal, communication, negotiation and teamwork skills with a proven ability to establish and maintain productive professional relationships as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Proven social research skills including capacity to analyse and synthetise information, draw conclusions and make recommendations
