The Economic Development and Sustainability Program will support the growth of ‘place capital’ in the main streets and precincts to create a prosperous and liveable City. It will support the economic development of the City through a focus on business growth and investment, the City Experience (visitors and tourism) and international relations and lead CoA programs the Innovate Adelaide initiative. The Program will also support the city, its community and the Corporation in using resources wisely and adapting to climate change.

About the Opportunity

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Waste & Recycling Education Coordinator to join our Sustainability team supporting the Waste Project Manager to develop and deliver waste and recycling communication and educational materials. In this role you will deliver programs and projects that will increase the diversion of materials from landfill in City of Adelaide facilities and operations, as well as external services.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience with implementing community education/engagement programs in sustainable waste management.
  • Experience in the provision of advice to the community on environmental sustainability issues.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • The ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in civil, science, environmental, sustainability or a related field, or commensurate demonstrated experience in lieu of formal qualifications.
