The Sustainability Program contributes to the creation of a sustainable city through leading, innovating and collaborating with our partners to take credible action and by supporting the community to make the City of Adelaide carbon neutral and an environmental leader.

About the Opportunity

In this position you will provide advice to Council and the organisation on measures to improve the City’s environmental performance, with a focus on supporting the City of Adelaide to become a carbon neutral city. This includes the development and delivery of emissions reduction policies and projects that support the goal of carbon neutrality for the City of Adelaide community.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Excellent writing skills and demonstrated experience with environmental policy, project or program delivery in one or more of the following areas: urban sustainability, climate change mitigation and adaptation, and energy management.
  • Experience in the provision of advice to the community on environmental sustainability and climate change issues.
  • Ability to consider political implications and provide advice on various decision paths before acting on issues.
  • Thorough understanding of environmental sustainability issues relevant to Capital Cities and the relevant policy direction of the South Australian and Australian governments.

Please be advised this is a full-time, permanent opportunity with a starting salary at the Level 7 Classification commencing at $101,699 + 9.5% superannuation.
