Circle Green Community Legal is the only not-for-profit service in WA offering specialist, state-wide legal advice, further assistance, representation, advocacy, community legal education, referrals, outreach and support, in employment, migration, tenancy, and family and domestic violence related visa problems.
As a specialist community legal centre for tenants, we are dedicated to protecting the right to housing for all tenants through advocacy, advice, and education. We provide advice to tenants through our Telephone Advice Service, as well as further support and advocacy through our duty advocacy program at the Perth Magistrates Court. As the Central Resource Resource Unit, we also provide support and professional development to tenants advocates across WA.
We are seeking an energetic, confident individual who enjoys a challenge and is interested in making a significant difference to the lives of the people we work with. This is an exciting opportunity to be working in a unique specialist community legal centre. This role will be primarily providing advice by telephone, although there may be opportunities to work on law and policy reform, community legal education, and drafting submissions.
The ideal candidate will have more than two years post- admission experience, although we would also consider a candidate who is close to completing their restricted practice. Experience in supervising junior staff (including restricted practitioners and paralegals) will be highly regarded.
A position description is attached.
