Circle Green Community Legal (Circle Green) is an independent, not-for-profit community legal centre providing state-wide specialist legal services in humanitarian, family and domestic violence, residential tenancy, and workplace law.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As Human Resources Officer, you will play a key role in supporting our team members throughout their journey with us. From recruitment to onboarding, performance management to training, you will be at the heart of our HR operations, ensuring compliance and fostering a supportive environment.

Reporting to the People & Culture Manager, this role proactively ensures effective and efficient planning, coordination, and administration across the full employee lifecycle.

Responsibilities of the role include:

  • Recruitment & Onboarding: Attract great people (employees and volunteers), coordinate interviews, and ensure new hires feel welcomed and supported.
  • HRIS Management: Maintain accurate employee data, generate insightful reports, and identify opportunities to enhance our systems.
  • Compliance: Record, track, and follow up on compliance activities, ensuring adherence to workplace policies and legal requirements.
  • Training & Development: Coordinate training activities and monitor mandatory training.
  • Workplace Safety: Support the implementation of our safety system.
  • Query Management: Respond to queries, manage inboxes and provide People & Culture support.
  • Co-ordination & Program Support: Co-ordinate offboarding activities, surveys and support performance management, engagement and diversity and inclusion activities.

Qualifications and experience

  • Tertiary qualification in human resources or related field
  • 1 to 2 years experience in a similar role
  • Experience in a not-for-profit community organisation an advantage

Knowledge and skills

  • Proficiency in Employment Hero or similar, and MS suite.
  • Working knowledge of employment relations legislation and environment.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
  • Great people skills with the ability to build relationships across all levels.
  • A keen willingness to learn, grow and contribute.
  • A demonstrated commitment to human rights and social justice issues
