The Artistic Director has overall responsibility for the delivery of an ethical, authentic, vibrant, and diverse artistic program and for the development and implementation of its artistic output. The Artistic Director will strategically and collaboratively build, co-lead and drive CIAF’s growth in the next five years to further develop and enhance this high-profile Queensland event which began in 2009.
We are looking for a person with high level creative and curatorial leadership skills and knowledge in relation to delivering authentic, vibrant, and diverse multi-arts programs for major events with a specialisation in or ability to specialise in showcasing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander arts and culture.
The Artistic Director will have demonstrated knowledge of the Indigenous visual arts industry (and current issues affecting it at a regional, state, and national level). Practical experience in working with a range of Indigenous and arts industry stakeholders and partners to deliver outcomes including the application of Indigenous protocols and ethical practices within the Indigenous arts industry.
The Artistic Director will demonstrate sound knowledge of Indigenous protocols and Cultural sensitivity as well as a strong ethical practice.
