Context:

Christians Against Poverty (CAP) Australia is a charity with a strong vision and passionate workforce. CAP exists to equip the church to walk alongside those in financial distress, while confidently proclaiming Jesus. CAP is building a movement of churches that are committed to tackling both material and relational poverty.

CAP equips church partners with the inspiration, tools and resources to bring hope, build community and live generously so that no one living in Australia would face financial distress alone.

The Fundraising and Marketing Team is responsible for increasing the number of individuals and churches joining this movement through effective marketing and storytelling. The team are responsible for the development of all fundraising initiatives, developing brand and for marketing CAP partnership to churches. CAP’s regular giving programme (Life Changers) is central to CAP’s growth strategy and is a keyway for Christians to join the movement and make a personal impact on Australians experiencing financial distress.

Purpose:

To communicate with a high volume of supporters in a timely and individualised manner across a number of campaigns aimed at deepening engagement with current supporters as well as securing new ones. You will also provide support to the Supporter Operations Manager in ensuring that communication with our CAP supporters is timely and effective as well as providing timely reporting to other departments in CAP as required.

Role

Accountabilities:

  • Monitoring the Supporter Relations Inbox and responding to general enquiries
  • Answering the main line phone and responding to voicemails
  • Actioning any post received
  • Keeping supporter records up to date with all new and relevant information (eg Updating donation details, processing donations, updating personal details, updating email preferences etc)
  • Maintaining accurate records in Mailchimp (email marketing platform)
  • General phoning as required
  • Campaign calling in relation to supporter acquisition and retention and events
  • Ensuring all new supporters are added to the database in line with agreed timeframe targets and to welcome them to CAP - This includes managing the processing of our new to database entries
  • Preparing data for mailshots and e-shots for all regular and campaign communications and as requested by other teams as needed
  • Ensuring one off donations and new Life Changers (regular donors) are accurately processed, recorded on FAITH (CRM) and personally thanked as appropriate to agreed service standards
  • Ensuring bounced Life Changer donations are processed in Faith (CRM) and a text message sent out to relevant supporters - The outstanding bounces then need to be phoned to ensure that lost income is minimised
  • Ensuring tax receipts are processed and issued correctly and in a timely way
  • Banking duties as required
  • Closing Finance Batches daily
  • Assisting the Supporter Operations Manager with monthly reporting and reporting for other departments as required

Measurable Outputs:

  • Service Standards met when responding to Supporter enquiries by phone or email
  • Bounce Retrieval targets as agreed in Forecast OKR
  • Attendance targets at Fundraising Events as agreed in Forecast OKR
  • Call campaign targets as agreed in the Forecast OKR
  • Minimising data processing errors as per agreed Service Standards
  • Maintaining best practice fundraising standards according to FIA guidelines
