The Council to Homeless Persons (CHP) is the Victorian peak body representing organisations and individuals with an interest in ending homelessness in Victoria. We are seeking a dynamic, highly skilled practitioner to lead and contribute to a wide range of Specialist Homelessness Services (SHS) capacity building and policy response activities. 

About the role

The Senior Practitioner will undertake environmental scanning and dissemination of research and best practice; provide subject matter expertise in resource and training development; and participate in developing communities of practice. 

A focus of the work will be supporting policy and service coordination capacity building across health and community services for people experiencing homelessness with high and complex needs, including in response to Covid-19.

The Senior Practitioner will lead CHP ‘s Housing First permanent supportive housing and assertive outreach sector development activities in Victoria including coordinating Australia’s engagement with the Housing First Europe Homeless Hub and the roll out and delivery of HF training in Victoria.

The successful applicant will have advanced practice leadership skills, including the delivery of Housing First and assertive outreach services to people with complex needs.  They will have demonstrated ability to develop, organise and deliver capacity building activities; and strong report writing and social research skills.   

This position will be a .6 or .8 for one year with a view to extending subject to funding. Salary packaging is available.
