Where you come in:

In this part-time, fixed-term position (3 months with possibility of extension), based at Deakin University's Burwood campus*, you will support the communications function of the CHL, particularly as we pivot our programs to work in the new COVID-19 environment. You'll work with our Communications Adviser to ensure our digital communications, website, and social media channels are updated and supported in a timely manner.

You will make an impact by:

  • Reporting and analysing social media and website data
  • Managing the implementation of the social media content calendar
  • Day-to-day management of CHL's social media channels - Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube
  • Administering the social media management tools (i.e. AgoraPulse)
  • Web page mapping and scheduling of publications
  • Managing and implementing the web style guide
  • Publishing new content on our website and ensuring web content and pages are up to date

You are a natural storyteller with a proven ability to influence, align, and engage individuals across a range of platforms. You're excited by growing social media communities and driving best-practice content through analytics and meaningful insights, while working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders. Your audience-driven approach and strong understanding of digital content channels will support your success in this role.

This role requires:

  • Strong experience using digital communication tools for social media, including WordPress
  • Tertiary qualification/s in Marketing, Communications, PR or Publishing, or equivalent work experience
  • A strong ability to interpret web and social media analytics
  • Experience managing social media channels with proven track record of increasing website traffic
  • Exceptional copywriting and editing skills
  • A journalistic talent for telling stories

Position Description - Online Communications Officer

*While COVID-19 social distancing restrictions are in place, this role works remotely (i.e. from home or an alternative location). Once the pandemic restrictions are lifted, the role will be based in our office in Burwood.
