Support Coordinator - Port Macquarie / Kempsey

About the Role:

Community Housing Limited (CHL) Group of Companies is an innovative and best practice affordable housing organisation which assists access to, develops and manages sustainable housing for people in need. This role has the capacity to be based at either Port Macquarie or Kempsey location.

Key responsibilities include providing high quality case coordination by:

  • Assisting customers with information, advocacy and referrals
  • Coordinating and facilitating customer access to identified support services, social and economic opportunities
  • Maintaining accurate records in all required systems
  • Working closely with teams in both Kempsey and Port Macquarie to ensure all CHL services and external support partners are available to a customer

What will success look like?

You will demonstrate relevant experience in a similar role, providing support and/or referral services for people who are vulnerable or experiencing social disadvantage, as well as thorough understanding of the support service sector and community and public housing sectors. In addition, you will have extensive experience in one or more priority areas, including employment, education and training, family support, mental health support, and financial literacy. You will also have:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the support service sector
  • A talent for building relationships and working in partnership with individuals to achieve goals
  • The ability to work independently with a collaborative approach to team work
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The ability to network and develop effective working relationships
  • A current drivers licence will be needed as travel between local offices will be required
  • A commitment to the right of all people to affordable and sustainable housing
