Finance Manager

Children First Foundation

What makes this role so unique? What makes this role so special?

… You get to work directly with disadvantaged children whose lives you will help change.

… Your innate passion for making a tangible difference will not only be boosted by “hanging out” with the kids, you also get to work with a great bunch of staff, volunteers, Directors, donors and supporters.

Children First Foundation is a Victorian-based charity that believes every child is entitled to excellent medical treatment regardless of where they were born or where they live. Through our Miracle sMiles Program, we enable life-changing surgery in Australia for disadvantaged children from developing countries.

You may be familiar with Nima and Dawa, the formerly conjoined twins from Bhutan? Children First Foundation is the organisation that brought the girls and their Mum to Australia for Nima and Dawa’s life-saving separation, and five months of treatment and care.

Children First Foundation works in partnership with exceptional surgeons, health professionals and hospitals who provide first-class surgery and medical treatment. We also partner with in-country personnel and international not-for-profit organisations such as Interplast Australia and New Zealand, ROMAC, No Roads Foundation and AACHOL Trust who refer children to us.

We are a small team doing a big job, hence the Finance Manager's role is pivotal to the achievement of the Foundation’s core functions and mission. So…

  • Are you looking for a unique role in an agile workplace that embraces and enhances your passion to assist disadvantaged children doing it tough?
  • Do you have a proven record of overseeing and managing financial, accounting, CRM and IT functions and processes?
  • Do you have advanced knowledge of accounting software (preferable Xero), Microsoft Office and CRMs (preferably DonMan)?
  • Are you experienced in preparing accurate and timely financial reports?
  • Do you have an understanding of legislative requirements, preferably in the non-profit sector?
  • Do you have a background in working collaboratively with a small, dynamic team of go-getters?
  • If so, we'd love to hear from you
